El Child Liberation Foundation (CLF)<\/strong> was honored to participate in the Intersectoral Roundtable Against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESCNNA), held on May 22, 2025<\/strong>, in Medell\u00edn. The session took place at the Faculty of Public Health of the University of Antioquia<\/strong>, following an invitation from Jazm\u00edn Santa<\/strong>, who contacted CLF via the foundation’s official social media channels. CLF was represented by psychologist Andr\u00e9s Fl\u00f3rez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing Challenges in Preventing Child Sexual Exploitation in Colombia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Intersectoral Roundtable brought together key actors from various institutions to evaluate the current state of efforts to prevent and respond to child sexual exploitation in Colombia<\/strong>. Participants collaborated in small working groups to assess institutional strengths and weaknesses. Key concerns raised included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Lack of sustained political will to address exploitation structurally<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Absence of a unified national registry for reporting abuse cases<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Shortage of trained, specialized personnel to support victims<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Extremely high impunity rates, with up to 95% of cases going unpunished<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Bureaucratic delays that hinder timely access to justice<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Lenient sentencing in sexual crimes against minors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Building Strategic Alliances to Protect Children<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    During the Intersectoral Roundtable, CLF established new connections with other organizations, including Fundaci\u00f3n Lucerito<\/strong>, led by Ingrid Wolff<\/strong>. With over 20 years of experience in child abuse prevention, Lucerito expressed interest in collaborative efforts with CLF<\/strong> to strengthen inter-institutional networks and knowledge sharing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Psychologist Andr\u00e9s Fl\u00f3rez<\/strong> also joined two thematic commissions within the ESCNNA working group: Knowledge Management<\/strong> y Prevenci\u00f3n<\/strong>. He now awaits confirmation of future meetings to engage in continued intersectoral coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
