Trauma-Informed

Guidance and Certification

What is the Certification For:

This certification course in Colombia trains educators, families, and professionals who work with children vulnerable to sexual abuse and trafficking. Based on a trauma-informed care model, it teaches them how to identify the connection between traumatic experiences and health, as well as how to recognize signs of trauma. It promotes prevention and offers tools to address this issue, contributing to a safer and more resilient society.

Project Objectives:

  • Certify 500 people in the trauma-informed care model in the first year, 2025, assessing their theoretical and practical competency.
  • Provide training that enables participants to recognize signs of child abuse and sexual trafficking, with at least 85% passing the competency assessments within 6 months.
  • Develop and implement three prevention strategies in educational, community, and family settings, reaching at least 10 institutions or communities during the first year.
  • Stimulate the creation and adoption of protocols for physically, emotionally, and psychologically safe environments in at least 5 institutions within 12 months.
